Soak up the sun and start enjoying your summer with a fun new crochet pattern! There’s nothing better than warm days and cool nights sprinkled with a bit of crochet goodness in between. πŸ˜‰ I figure I’m way overdue for posting a crochet or knitting pattern on here, what’s it been – almost a year? Yikes! Seeing as the warm weather is finally here, I wanted to make something festive and fitting for the season – a pineapple! But just any ol’ pineapple would not do, I wanted one with a lot of texture and character that is sure to keep things interesting as it’s crocheted!

Round 2: SC around (10 sts)

Round 3: DEC around (5 sts)

Bind off and weave yarn through remaining stitches to close.

Pineapple Leaves (Green Yarn) (Make 5)

Magic ring 5 sc

Round 1: SC around (5 sts)

Round 2: INC around (10 sts)

Rounds 3-10: SC around (10 sts) (8 Rounds)

Round 11: *SC 3, DEC* twice (8 sts)

Round 12: SC around (8 sts)

Bind off, leaving a tail for sewing.

With green yarn on your hook, flatten each leaf so that 4 sts are at the bottom instead of 8. Attach yarn to the bottom of your first leaf and SC around until all leaves are fully attached (20 sts total).

Round 1: SC around (20 sts)

Round 2: DEC around (10 sts)

Bind off and attach finished leaf portion to the top of the pineapple base.

**If you would like for your pineapple leaves to stick up rather than spill over the sides of the pineapple, use the long leftover tails from the leaves to sew one side of each leaf to the one next to it 1/3 of the way up. This will bring all of the leaves into an upright/stiff position!**
